Golf Tournament
Plan an playing this Labor Day “Best Ball” scramble to start the week in
style. The tournament will be at the Texas Star Golf Course, one of the premier
courses in the area (check it out at “http://www.texasstargolf.com”.
Cost is $85.00 per person and includes lunch, cart, as well as range balls.
Lunch starts around 11:00 AM and the tournament starts “shotgun” style at about
1:00 PM. Spouses and friends are welcome. Our scramble format will maximize
the fun and minimize the pressure for golfers and duffers of all levels. We’ll
get player levels or handicaps to have fairly matched teams. Don’t miss this
chance to join your shipmates on Monday for a fun time and tee off the start of
a great Convention Week.

Baseball Special
The Texas Rangers baseball team has offered group rate tickets to their game against the Seattle Mariners
on Monday Night, September 1st. Cost is $20.00 per person, which includes transportation . We
will be recognized on the Jumbotron screen and may have one of our members selected to throw in the
first pitch. Transportation will leave from the Ft.Worth Hilton at 5:00PM

Tickets will be sold during the convention in the registration area – 2nd floor of the Hilton Ft. Worth. Drawings will be held Saturday evening September 6th at the banquet. You do not have to be present to win.
Wednesday September 3rd from 6 to 10:00PM. Will be held in the Historic Ft. Worth Stockyards at Stockyard Station private dining room. Up and down Stockyards Station's narrow streets you'll find storefronts from the late 1800s, which were renovated for tourism in the 1970s. Stores are full of Western memorabilia including paintings, leather goods, books, glassware and hundreds of other treasures. Through the middle of it all runs the Tarantula Train, which shuttles passengers on a nostalgic round trip to and from the nearby city of Grapevine.
· Cost is $25.00 per person.
· Dress –casual. Wear your jeans and boots.
· Round-trip transportation from the Hilton Ft. Worth hotel. Twenty-minute bus trip.
· Buffet banquet of Beef Brisket, Sausage, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Beans, Dinner Roll, and dessert.
· Entertainment. Back by popular demand, the Dallas Cheerleader on stilts.

Saturday September 6th, 5:30 to 11:30PM. Will be held at the Ft. Worth Convention Center, main ballroom. Three blocks from the Hilton Ft. Worth.
· Cost is $55.00 per person which includes dinner, entertainment, and round-trip transportation from the Hilton Ft. Worth hotel.
· Dress – Men SubVet vest or coat and tie. Ladies, semi-formal.
· Social hour begins at 5:30PM.
· Dinner served at 6:30PM. Catered by the nationally renowned Reata Restaurant.

The Hospitality Room is on the 2nd Floor of the Hilton Ft. Worth adjacent to the vendor’s room. Hours of operation are 7:00AM till Midnight, September 1st to September 6th. Coffee will be available starting at 7:00AM. A cash bar will be open from Noon till Midnight. For your enjoyment, cards, dominoes, dice, and other table games will be available.
Memorial Service Friday September 5th. 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
A Memorial Service in remembrance of Shipmates who gave their lives in service to our country will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena, which is a one-block walk from the Hilton Hotel. The Service will include a “Tolling of the Boats” ceremony. The speaker for the service is Captain Mark S.
